Florida’s First Green
Home & Building Retail Center
(Sarasota, Florida) –
Sarasota Green Marketplace, the first green
home and building retail center in Florida,
celebrates its Grand Opening at 2864 Ringling
Blvd at Gold Tree Plaza April 19 at 10 am with
a ribbon cutting ceremony.
“This is a landmark
event. Sarasota Green Marketplace is one of
the few green home and building centers in this
country where consumers will find only environmentally
safe and people friendly products. This reflects
our continuing commitment to be a leader in
green building and sustainable solutions,”
said store owner Mary Anne Bowie, FAICP.
Several key leaders in the
sustainable community will be present for the

for Sarasota County Paul Radauskus, Martina

Sarasota Green Marketplace
offers a step by step guide for the consumer
to “go green” and sells safe garden
products, healthy cleaning products, “aging
in place” design solutions, solar energy
products, air purifiers, porous paving and healthy
flooring including bamboo, cork, wool carpet,
recycled carpet tiles, engineered hardwood,
terrazzo and Marmoleum. SGM works with Home
Front Homes, manufacturer of the sustainable
houses known as Katrina Cottages, to deliver
complete green home packages. SGM also offers
bike racks and artistic wooden bowls from fallen
trees as well as educational materials for sale
or loan.
SGM is a member of the Sarasota
Chamber of Commerce, Homebuilders’ Association,
Co-op America Business Network and the Florida
Green Building Coalition. Store hours are Tuesday
through Thursday 10 am to 6 pm; Friday and Saturday
